This requires working closely with growers to 'get it right' on the vine, then handling the wines with minimal manipulation in the winery. All wines are aged exclusively in premium-quality French oak barrels with a judicious proportion of new wood. As for the name... Winemaker/owner Tim Sorenson and his wife/partner, Nancy Rivenburgh, have been avid skiers since early childhood. For them, 'fall line' evokes the image of a perfectly balanced skier, gracefully descending a slope of deep, fluffy powder—leaving behind a beautifully carved swoosh. It's what they aspire to on the slopes...and what you will savor in their wines: Balance. Grace. Depth.
